About

colorado

I have been playing electric and acoustic guitars since the age of 13 when I found out my friends were putting together a band and needed a guitar player. That first couple of years didn’t sound very good, I’m sure, but it sure seemed like it at the time. Within a few years I was playing in local clubs (before I was old enough to legally be in there) and touring a little bit. I was in one band in particular (Ballistic Missiles) that performed on Star Search a few times, and had a video that played on MTV. Well, we got a record deal and after a few months the whole thing blew up – like a rock n’ roll cliche.

So, I regrouped and somehow got a song in a movie that I still get microscopic royalties for. Yay. Apparently there are quite a few people in the far reaches of the world that like “Girlfriend From Hell”.

Flash forward to playing in punk bands, new wave bands, Big bands, jazz bands, playing with the Sufi’s (try playing a semitone on a half tone instrument!), black gospel bands, and then playing internationally with a comedy group that catered to corporate behemoths. I have played in many cover/original bands as well, and continue to do so today in my acoustic band Ballistic Missiles.

And through these years I have taught various styles and theories to select students – Long story short, I have loved guitar since my early teens and love showing anyone who’s interested in how to play it. So if you are ready to make that giant leap in to FUN – call me @ 415-233-1766, or email me at: eric@evolutionweb.com.
